Dorothea and James Fleming founded Aubergine Art and Picture Framing in the year 2000. Since then this family owned business has grown organically to offer the best in original art, contemporary prints and illustration and handmade glass.
Situated right in the heart of Wimbledon town centre, Aubergine is a real artistic hub. Paintings in oil, watercolour, mixed media and acrylic hang alongside an exciting range of prints including household names Quentin Blake and Beatrix Potter, contemporary graphic work and handmade prints using traditional processes such as drypoint, carborundum and screenprinting. We also feature glass by Teresa Chlapowski and hope to introduce contemporary sculpture in the near future.
The Aubergine team have been hand-picked for their own unique artistic qualities, and have backgrounds in contemporary art, fine art, history of art, graphics and illustration and printmaking. The Aubergine team is extremely important; customers must enjoy the whole process of choosing a frame or an artwork and the interaction with us is key to this experience.
Aubergine is also a thriving bespoke framing workshop based on site with fully trained staff to help select and make frames for all your framing needs, whether this be an original oil, an Alexander McQueen scarf, an object d’art, or a family photograph. Aubergine’s aim is offer a personal and individual service that goes above and beyond the norm.
